Donald and Melania Trump were met with a very cold reception at the Kennedy Center Tuesday night, with loud boos ringing out as they arrived for the premiere of the Broadway hit Chicago.
Video shows the couple being greeted by a chorus of jeers mixed with sparse applause – a far cry from the adoring crowds Trump craves.
This marks their first joint public appearance since the widely panned premiere of Melania’s documentary earlier this year.
It’s little wonder why so many arts aficionados who frequent the Kennedy Center had nothing but raspberries for Trump when last year he demanded the lackey-stacked board of directors add his name to the iconic arts venue, prompting a wave of musicians and performers to boycott the center altogether.
That humiliation led him to spitefully close the once-prestigious institution for a two-year renovation, well longer than is necessary, that will start in July.
Even at his favorite show Les Misérables last year, Trump was met with boos and cheers. Now the pattern continues, and who is surprised? We all know the man would prefer a UFC fight than a classic musical.
