A couρle from Alligator Point, Florida, found a 400lb black bear on their front porch and called the authorities to get the hungry animal back to Osceola National Forest.
Wildlife authorities sedated the bear with a [tra.nquilizer da.rt], but to their surprise, the bear ran towards the ocean and started swimming.
As the bear began to [dr.own], Adam Warwick, a biologist with the Wildlife Cσmmission, jumρed into the water and swam after him. Warwick grabbed the bear and pulled him towards the shore, despite the animal becoming heavier and leaning on him more as it lost feeling in its body.
Eventually, the bear was hoisted onto a truck and returned to his home to sleep off the [tra.nquilizer].
The story, which was reported on CBS News, resurfaces on social media from time to time as an inspiring example of bravery and kindness towards animals.
