We hope you are as happy in life as this adorable puppy seems. Being bullied is a h.o.r.r.i.b.l.e act seen by to many people.
I think the breeders k.i.l.l them off because they’re not worth anything, but to us she’s priceless.
Roo, an eight-week-old Labrador mix, was named after a ‘kangaroo,’ because of the way she hops around using her hind legs. When she walks, she leans on her elbows with her bottom in the air.
This is because Roo was born with six legs – two extra in the front – so she has a little trouble getting around like a normal dog would.
When Lauren Salmon’s 15-year-old son, Luke, saw Roo advertised by a breeder online, their family knew they had to have her. Since she was born with a defect, it’s likely that the breeder would have eventually had her e.u.t.h.a.n.i.z.e.d if she couldn’t find her a home.
When Luke and his mom went to pick her up, she came hopping out of her pen and jumped up on her hind legs. She was so happy to see them and they could tell right away how full of life she was, despite her defect.
She’s full of puppy energy, so we’d describe her as placid but playful.
Since bringing Roo home, Luke and her have been absolutely inseparable. And Luke knows exactly what it’s like to feel like the odd one out. Luke suffers from psoriasis, which leaves his skin covered in red patches, and has been bullied in school because of it.
Now he has a new best friend, and so does Roo…
In addition to new loving humans, Roo also has a new doggy sibling, along with two cats and two rabbits.
Salmon is now working with Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick to see how they can improve Roo’s mobility. Although her two extra legs hinder her from walking normally, they do not cause her any pain.
Thank you for adopting this puppy and thank you for giving this boy his life back ! 🐾🐾💖🐾🐾
